Sarees and Bollywood Heroines

by Shatika, June 9, 2016

Sarees have also taken inspiration from film divas and it is said that the Madhuri Dixit’s saree in Salman starrer ‘Hum Apke Hain Kaun’ the saree that she wore in the song ,’Didi tera dewar dewana..’ did the highest sale ever! Then there is Deepika who gave another energy to the saree. Sushmita and Dimple have given it a sensuousness to the point of desirability. Shilpa gave another kind of style to the saree. The heroines today have glistening and toned bodies to show off and the saree is the best medium. They dare to bare and we love to watch them do it. The saree has fascinated us all and it’s a treat to see all our filmi beauties in our favourite attire-the saree.

The reigning actress of Baji Mastani, Deepika Padukone, is a tall legged beauty. She looks absolutely divine in sarees. She is often seen wearing sarees and looks great each time we get a vision of the greek goddess! In Mastani, she wore paithani sarees with aplomb and she certainly has given a new look to the saree and a trend of fitness is visible in bollywood.

Sonam Kapoor is truly a Fashion hound. She must be having coutoured dreams too! Extremely conscious of style and being well dressed for her is a way of life. Spic and span, meticulous to the tee –in dressing. Loves the European style of dressing. Looked fabulous in Khubsoorat too! Vidya Balan is synonymous with ethnic excellence. She inspires the handloom industry and has shown like the legendary actress Rekha before her that the saree is the most glamorous and the most comfortable garment. Vidya has worn sarees on screen and off screen and she looks sensational whenever she dons a saree and she has an amazing collection of jewellery just like Kiron Kher. Kareena Kapoor Khan has re-defined herself after ’Tashan’ and not looked back. She has given us some wonderful shots in a saree. Kareena Kapoor sarees have taken us by storm.

The talent from abroad, the NRI Sunny Leone, who took bollywood and India by storm. The girl has done commercials, songs and movies in India. She looks amazing in sarees. Watch her sizzle and make the saree scene hotter than a frying pan.

The Sri Lankan, serene and tall beauty, Jacqueline Fernandez just breezed into our lives. She got rare reviews as being the most seductive and she won our hearts in her Indian wear! She has proven that when the heart is true then everything looks good.

The face that the world can never forget from her last foray at the Republic day wearing the red saree as a special guest of the French President. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan needs no introduction, she has proved her mettle in cinema. A former beauty queen. She has been the recipient of the prestigious ‘Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters’, a civilian award given to her, by the French government. She was the only Indian actor to be present at Rajpath. She has been a showcase of Indianness at Cannes and is always dressed impeccably in the most delectable saree.

We love her for her penchant for sarees. At Shatika we are proud to have the leading ladies of bollywood so passionate about sarees.
