I love all my fingers because I don’t know, which one did my mother hold to teach me to walk! Shatika salutes all mothers.

No one deny this that God could not be everywhere so he invented mothers. The Romans it is said, to have been the first to understand the importance of worshiping mother in the form of Goddess Cybele subsequently Mother’s Day became one of the most important events.

The worldwide recognition of the role of a mother in a person’s life shows the pedestal on which she stands. It is celebrated on the second Sunday in the month of May. Indians bow their head to their mother’s everyday.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, fall upon us; hit us like a ton of bricks, adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when troubles thicken around us.

The mother is a rock who will be on your side forever. This is something we take for granted and sometimes forget to give her due. Gratitude should be returned. Although mothers do it selflessly but this Mother’s Day do express your love, appreciation by giving her gifts. Sometimes we wonder, she has everything – No look around, what does she like, what does she miss? Answer those questions and you will have a wonderful idea what to give to the anchor of your life.

To make your future awesome you have to work on the present. Spending time with your parents is a healing process. You will pass the baton to your children. Try to be how you would like them to behave with you. There is no fixed surety that the son will follow your footsteps but will at least try to be like you. The seeds are sown, you yourself decide your destiny.

Future looks good if mothers are treated like a goddess. Poor fathers don’t worry we have Father’s Day for you. Ironically Indian culture does not allow us to mistreat our parents but sadly it is the ones who have too much money and who send the senior citizens, to age old homes because too much money lulls morality and have you ever wondered why parents talk about their sons being engineers, doctors, and not Lab assistant or a humble teacher because they have time for their parents and do not send them to old age homes. They are the ones who truly love their mothers. And this Mother’s Day should be a tribute to such children who truly bow their heads to the one who taught them to walk!
