‘Shatika’ the Sanskrit word for saree is the exquisite unstitched garment of ancient India. We are proud to market the handloom sarees of our country through our online portal of sarees. It has been a labour of love and hard work. We have completed 365 days of hot days and delirious nights. Chasing deadlines and procuring artisans work and woven wonders in the finest silk, cotton, cotton silks and chiffons. Handloom is a timeless facet of the rich cultural heritage of India. There are about 35 lakh looms across the country, which are represented by the vast repertoire of sarees from everywhere in India. No place is too far or no work is so small when promotion of handloom is concerned. We are delighted to have served our saree lovers for a year and at our anniversary we are conscious of the saying, ‘Well begun is only half done’. Shatika has tied up with numerous Handloom Weavers and artisans from all over the country producing world class handloom products so that our discerning customers are gratified. After all, it is not important how you did your work but how well you did your work!

A year ago, Shatika had begun a revolution; a six yard sari revolution, a humble attempt to bring back the lost love for handloom sarees. We were fired to create a unique interpretation of the age old craft, we travelled to all creative corners of the country, visiting weavers, guiding them on the latest trends so they weave out a symbiosis of the age old tradition with a modernity and bring them online so that our dear saree lovers could savour the delights of hand-picked delights conveniently from the comfort of their homes. We will continue to as certain high standards for ourselves so that saree shopping is a joy forever. On our anniversary special, there is going to be a lot of fun and lots of offers to look forward to!
