Uppada is a village in East  Godavari distri of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Kothapalli mandal of Kakinada revenue division. Uppada Jamdani Sari is a handcrafted sari woven at the village and is also a geographical indication of Andhra Pradesh. It is popular Fishery station for Prawns. The art of weaving has been an age old profession and uppada sarees are a must during any festival.

These silk sarees from Uppada, Andhra pradesh , are made using the age old Jamdani method. The sarees are known for their unique designs. The Uppada sarees are made by hand and are extremely light. The zari work and intricate designs embellished in the saree make them a correct choice for grand festive attire.

An Uppada silk saree would generally  have a  beautiful  design   flourishing  all over with stylized motifs woven in zari and resham and designed with a  pallu with motifs woven in zari and resham complementing the zari border. A blouse piece  is generally attached.  Uppada handloom sarees are woven in silk using the jamdani technique giving a rich finish to this light weight yet grand saree. The weavers have acquired this skill from their ancestors and craft beautiful weaves of magic in silk.  We at Shatika are devoted to curate the best and craft the most stylish of Indian ethnic wear. Entwining tales of culture and couture, fabrics and fables, weaves and whims, to grace the woman in you.
