by Shatika, January 2, 2016

A saree, is a woman’s best friend. It is a multifaceted metaphor. It stands under the umbrella of handloom printed silk sarees. We have craftsmen in Chennai, Bangaluru and Hyderabad, who have worked painstakingly for Shatika and have created one  masterpiece after another! The craftsmen have lit the canvas of the saree with tribal lore, traditional prints, modern and classical. Pallus could be elaborate or simple.

Time immemorial examples of women doing the chores or selling fruit, were all wearing sarees. Even Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi was wearing a saree when she died protecting our country. So therefore it has the strength of unity. Shatika has exclusive sarees which are all set to take the ladies by storm. As we are always one short of a saree! Silk as a texture is very smooth and takes on the contours of the body very gracefully. Silk is different, on the basis, of the area it has been created. Sari culture has refashioned and made silk versatile and therefore popular.
